Adoption Support / About Us
"I will not leave you orphans. I will come to
you "
--John 14:18
We are a group of people who meet once each quarter.
We have been meeting at Crossroads Church since January
2003 to address every facet of the adoption journey ranging from
the position of birthparents, to the life experiences of adoptees,
to those facing the post adoption challenges, to those pre-adoption
families who just want to know more.
We usually invite a guest speaker to focus on a
particular need. These speakers have included representatives
of private adoption agencies (domestic and international),
county agencies, and Project 1.27. We also host discussion
panels to address specific areas of adoption. These
panels have included adopted children who are now
adults, birthparents, and parents who have adopted ‘substance
abuse babies'.
Each gathering allows for time for meeting other
couples and addressing any prayer needs. We find
this support to be of great value to all the families
who attend. As each adoption story and journey is
unique, there is a camaraderie’ and unity evident
among the attendees.
